Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) interim chief Jameson Timba has expressed his gratitude to former celebration chief Nelson Chamisa for the help he and different political activists obtained whereas incarcerated.

Timba, together with 34 opposition activists, had been launched from jail after Magistrate Collet Ncube handed them wholly suspended sentences on Wednesday.

“There was one key person who played a significant role in ensuring that not a single day went with us not having a meal in prison. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Advocate Nelson Chamisa for the solid support that he gave us when we were in prison,” Timba stated.

The group had spent over 5 months in custody after being convicted of taking part in what the regime known as an illegal gathering.

Timba, who was arrested on June 16 alongside 79 others, was sentenced to 2 years in jail, which was wholly suspended. Other male activists obtained 16-month suspended sentences, whereas feminine activists got 12-month suspended sentences.
