Three-time Comrades Marathon champion and five-time Two Oceans Marathon winner, Gerda Steyn, has joined the Hollywood Athletics Club (HAC).

The announcement was made during a special event held on the Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse, marking her introduction to The Purple Team.

Regarded as South Africa’s golden lady, a standout determine in long-distance operating whose outstanding achievements have captured the hearts of her fellow countrymen, Steyn’s heat and radiant smile captivates South Africans at giant.

Steyn expressed her pleasure at becoming a member of the HAC.

Bold transfer

This marks a daring transfer by the Hollywood Athletics Club as they gear up for the upcoming season.

Steyn joins a formidable elite line-up, together with Irvette van Zyl and Loveness Madziva, making a formidable group for the Two Oceans Marathon in April.

These three athletes claimed the highest three positions in final 12 months’s race, showcasing their aggressive prowess and potential for the upcoming season.

The addition of Gerda Steyn indicators the membership’s dedication to excellence and its ambition to compete on the highest stage nationally.

With outstanding performances final season, the Hollywood Athletics Club has established itself as a pressure on the street.

Steyn’s debut within the Purple Team colors will happen on the 30km Bay to Bay race in Cape Town this weekend.

Thereafter she is going to compete within the Two Oceans Marathon and, the Comrades Marathon, the place she has persistently delivered record-breaking performances over time.

This 12 months’s Two Oceans Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, 5 April, whereas the 2025 Comrades Marathon will happen on Sunday, 8 June.
