ZESCO Reduces Power Rationing to 3-5 Hours Following System Disturbance

ZESCO Limited has introduced a discount in energy rationing hours to between 3 and 5 hours, following a nationwide energy system disturbance on November 24, 2024.

Speaking at a joint press briefing with the Energy Regulation Board (ERB), ZESCO’s Acting Managing Director, Justine Longo, defined that from November 17 to 24, 2024, ZESCO quickly eliminated the road connecting Zambia to Namibia’s energy provide as a part of ongoing upkeep.

Mr Longo additional defined that in this era, energy rationing was lowered from 7 hours to five hours. However, he famous that the utility was within the strategy of normalizing the rationing hours again to 7 when the latest energy disturbance occurred, affecting the system and additional lowering the rationing hours.
