UTM NEC assembly to proceed tomorrow; Usi to chair amid Kaliati’s arrest
UTM Party has confirmed that its National Executive Committee (NEC) assembly will go forward as scheduled tomorrow, Friday, regardless of the arrest of Secretary General Patricia Kaliati at present.
According to UTM Publicist Felix Njawala, the get together’s structure permits the assembly to happen within the absence of the secretary common.
Vice President Michael Usi, who can also be UTM President, will chair the essential gathering.
The NEC assembly goals to finalize plans for the get together’s upcoming conference and tackle different urgent points.
Kaliati was arrested at present at Lingadzi Police Station on allegations of conspiring to commit a felony.
UTM supporters have rallied round Kaliati, with a number of senior officers, together with Dalitso Kabambe, Newton Kambala, and Mathews Mtumbuka, displaying solidarity.
The NEC assembly takes on added significance because the UTM prepares for its elective convention on November 17, 2024.
