Orlando Pirates fumble thrilling 24-year-old Bafana Bafana goal?
Orlando Pirates won’t have things all their way in the January transfer window. Here’s the newest on one other goal.
Pirates to overlook out on Kwayiba
According to Soccer-Laduma, Orlando Pirates are unlikely to do a deal for Chippa United’s gifted box-to-box operator Sinoxolo Kwayiba. The 24-year-old can also be now a full Bafana Bafana worldwide.
“The interest from Orlando Pirates is still there and the club doesn’t want to lose him (Kwayiba) for free if he doesn’t sign a new contract this transfer window period because his current contract ends in June 2025. He signed an initial two-year contract when he joined from Pretoria Callies in 2023. And now the team is offering him another two-year improved deal until June 2027. So though it’s not a done deal yet he would rather be safe than sorry knowing that Chippa wants to keep him than rush for a deal which may not happen. For now, it’s an offer of two years and let’s wait and see,” stated the supply.
“It works both ways for Chippa United. If he (Kwayiba) goes to Pirates they will benefit from the sale as he will be contracted to them. They will cash in on him because he will be contracted to them. But at the same time even if he doesn’t go then they will make sure that he is still their player for the next two years and help the team going forward. So the two-year offer tabled for him is a good deal for both the club and the player as things stand right now,”
