New group of guides graduate from hospitality academy

Thirteen tourguide apprentices within the Namibian Academy for Tourism and Hospitality graduated a day earlier than Christmas, giving the scholars the most important Christmas present of their lives.

The greatest pupil within the coaching programme is Viva Kuyonisa adopted by Rafael Vetunyengua, Maria Matheus. Innock Innock, Andreas Kashamba, Grace Muyangwa, Isaks Nadhia, Muhenje Wakambura, Uararavi Urizora, Venderaize Rutavi, Baldwin Bezuidenhout, Fewstar Sikwana and Vaino Vaino.

The coaching programme is performed by Gondwana Collection Namibia and is licensed by the Namibia Training Authority as an NQF Level 3 Local Guide Certification.

Bezuidenhout obtained the award for excellent theoretical information, Nadhia for being the embodiment of Gondwana’s values, Wakambura for his distinctive self-discipline and Vetunyengua for his diligence.

During the course, college students purchase complete information in wildlife conservation, astronomy, cultural storytelling and the artwork of making immersive tourism experiences for his or her future clientele.

Gondwana’s Environmental and Social Impact Manager, Quinton Hartung, emphasised the broader affect of the programme, stating, “By training individuals from the communities where we operate, we are creating opportunities for locals while promoting sustainable tourism practices. This programme not only transforms lives but also strengthens the connection between our lodges and the communities that support them.”
