THE Namibia Revenue Agency (NamRA) invitations all licensed clearing brokers who plan to proceed offering declaration and clearance providers for importers and exporters in 2025 to resume their licences.

Tonateni Shidhudhu, NamRA’s Manager of Strategic Communications and Stakeholder Engagements, introduced that these licences might be renewed between 1 November 2024 and 31 January 2025, consistent with Section 73 of the Customs and Excise Act (Act No. 20 of 1998), with a renewal price of N$100.

“According to Item 835 of Schedule 8 of the Customs and Exise Act, 1998, a clearing agent’s license remains valid for one calendar year from 1 January to 31 December. As such, all clearing agents are required to renew their licenses before the close of each calendar year,” he mentioned.

Shidhudhu defined that clearing brokers should submit a accomplished renewal software kind (NamRA-CE-FR-055), obtainable on NamRA’s web site, together with proof of fee addressed to the commissioner. These paperwork might be submitted in individual, through courier, or by e mail to tradefacilitation@namra.org.na.

“Please note that all licenses not renewed by 31 January 2025 will be suspended. Additionally, any licence that was suspended in 2024, as well as any license suspended as of 31 January 2025, will incur a penalty fee of N$8,000.00 for reactivation,” Shidhudhu added.
