‘He receives too many assaults’ – Kaizer Chiefs coach shields Maart

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has defended Yusuf Maart regardless of his inconsistencies this season.

The 29-year-old midfielder was initially made membership captain earlier this season with the arrival of Nabi. Poor efficiency has seen the Tunisian tactician swap to captain armband over to Miguel Inacio. Maart has improved previously two matches and towards Richards Bay, he created two targets which helped his aspect to assert a 2-1 win over the Natal Rich Boys.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nabi says Maart wants Confidence

“Yes, I think this is a problem for confidence, for himself. Yusuf sometimes receives too many attacks. It’s difficult, mentally it’s difficult,” stated Nabi after the Royal AM match.

“I think the last game, and today, it’s not bad. He gave an excellent performance. Today, I think he gave a good performance.”

“I want to see more confidence for himself, and he continues to progress,” he stated.

Maart began in Kaizer Chiefs’ match towards Royal AM this previous weekend which ended 2-2. Despite taking a 2-0 lead in the opening 15 minutes, Amakhosi failed to control the match and were ultimately made to pay as Royal AM scored two goals in the second half to force a 2-2 draw.

Maart had a good sport for Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday nevertheless it was the defence that led the KZN outfit again into the sport.
