FORMER FIRST LADY ESTHER APPEALS FORFEITURE OF HER DOUBLE-STOREY FLATS
Former First Lady, Esther Lungu, has appealed the forfeiture of her 15 double-storey flats to the state, valued at over K61 million.
The flats are positioned in Lusaka’s State Lodge space.
Recently, the Economic and Financial Crimes Court ordered the forfeiture of the properties on account of their alleged connection to financial crime, following an utility filed by the Director of Public Prosecutions, Gilbert Phiri.
In its judgment, the court docket dominated that she had no recognized revenue to justify the acquisition of the properties in query.
Dissatisfied with the court docket’s resolution, the previous First Lady has filed seven grounds of enchantment, accusing the decrease court docket of getting erred in regulation and truth by deciding to forfeit the properties with out contemplating her proof.
