Floyd Shivambu appointed fifth MK Party SG in 11 months
UMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party has appointed Floyd Shivambu as its fifth secretary-general in 11 months.
The former Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) deputy president and co-founder replaces Dr Sifiso Maseko, who resigned on 29 October as his disciplinary listening to on the Gauteng Department of Health has concluded following his suspension in 2022.
Maseko was the MK Party’s fourth secretary-general because the organisation’s launch on 16 December 2023, following Arthur Zwane, Sihle Ngubane, and Thanduxolo “Gorbachev” Dyodo. He served within the place for 4 months.
FLOYD SHIVAMBU APPOINTED MK PARTY SECRETARY-GENERAL
In an announcement, MK Party head of presidency Magasela Mzobe mentioned get together chief Jacob Zuma has in session with the get together’s nationwide officers appointed Floyd Shivambu as secretary-general, efficient instantly.
“Floyd Shivambu will assume all of the capabilities and duties as secretary-general as prescribed the structure of the MK Party.

The president expresses full confidence in secretary-general Shivambu and the entire leadership of the MK Party,” Mzobe mentioned.
Following his resignation from the EFF in August, Shivambu was appointed nationwide organise and a few of his duties included constructing branches and areas nationwide, overseeing analysis and coverage growth, and appointing MK get together members to parliament and provincial legislatures.
