Anne mentioned that she noticed the necessity to lengthen her generosity to the group regardless of colleges being closed for the December holidays.

“I’m still offering a service to the children. They just play around my yard. I decided not to close the soup kitchen for the school holidays. I couldn’t just leave them like that but had to do something. And they are very happy,” she mentioned

One of the regular recipients is a grade 10 learner of Westside High School, Marius Hoebeb (19).

Hoebeb volunteers for the soup kitchen in exchange for a meal. He expressed his gratitude for the weekly meal that he gets from Anne’s Angels Soup Kitchen.

“It is better to study with a filled stomach than to study with an empty stomach, so I am really grateful for the food I get from the soup kitchen as it gives me the energy to concentrate and do my school work,” mentioned Hoebeb.

Anne’s Angels Soup Kitchen has been in operations since 2014.
